Renée Hackett is an Actress, Writer, Director and Producer from St. Bernard’s, on the Burin Peninsula of Newfoundland.

Renée was ACTRA NL’s 2023 Woman of the Year and winner of the 2019 Rhonda Payne Award.

Her acting credits span over 25 years. Her original series What Odds, which she wrote, co-produced, co-directed and starred in, currently airs on Bell Fibe TV. She can also be seen in The Missus Downstairs. In 2018 she produced her award-winning short film Some Saturdays. She is an alumna of Women in The Director’s Chair, The National Screen Institute’s Business for Producers Program, The LA Emerging Producers Mission, and back-to-back PEI Screenwriter’s Bootcamps and WIFT-Atlantic mentorships.
